My name is Philip Porter, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I am currently practicing in South Carolina. I believe life is a journey that is lived by all. To this end in life, we often feel "stuck". I strive to assist individuals in achieving their best life possible by providing therapy in a caring, safe, caring and non-judgmental environment. Prior to beginning in private practice, I have and continue a 30+ year career in public mental health. This experience has given me the opportunity to develop and eclectic style of therapy that focuses on individual’s needs, goals, preferences, and strengths to achieve their best life possible.

I incorporate evidenced based individualized treatment approaches to address coping skills, self-esteem, peer relationships, motivation, depression, anxiety, LGBTQ+ issues, career difficulties and other related issues with individuals. My extensive experience includes assessment, therapy, treatment planning, program development and counselor education.
