About

So you have to go into counseling. You're probably assuming that you'll have to meet with some stuffy professional that will have to judge every inch of your personal life with a bounty of bias. And yet, you’ve ended up in my consultation room, so I’d like to six words regarding my level of interpersonal judgment: "Ew, gross, I don't do that."
I never want you to feel like you are entering the therapeutic equivalent of an assembly line, because your needs will always be different from other patients, and this truly matters. Whether you are a child or an elder, you have a story to tell, and it is my job to highlight your story without judgment. I aim to offer a trauma-informed approach that is entirely self-directed, which means I can sit and observe and provide suggestions and information as needed, however, I will leave how you proceed with treatment entirely up to you.
My counseling style is both client-centered and trauma-informed. When we first meet, my goal is to get to know you on a holistic level beyond just your mental health symptoms, so that we can together visualize a path toward wellness. I believe that every person I work with is trying to accomplish their personal best with the resources afforded to them, and it is my goal to maintain your autonomy with every step of your treatment. Additionally, I want to get an understanding of your experiences and how they have affected you to better understand how you would like to influence your future path.
In terms of my professional qualifications, I am trained in various modialities including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) and Gottman Level 1 Couple’s Therapy. I am also ordained as a minister through the Universal Life Church. I am also a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
If you would like to pursue your journey around emotional wellness with me, I would be happy to accept the opportunity to be a part of your life story. Just let me know.
