I have been a counselor since 1984, having worked in many settings, with a large variety of clients. My style is warm, approachable and very caring. I use a lot of different approaches in therapeutic style; client centered, behavioral, cognitive behavioral and reality therapy. I am also certified as an addiction specialist. I have worked with dysfunctional families and am very comfortable with alternative lifestyles. I like to use animals in my treatment, as I know they are very healing.
I like to give my clients support and encouragement to try new things and help them understand whatever roadblocks are in their way.
Family issues are a large concern for many clients and so we look at themes within the family, birth order and roles; lots of related issues that surface in many families.
Power and control are some other issues I like to help clients investigate.
For therapy to be successful, there has to be trust, comfort and a willingness to share. I look forward to working with new clients and hope it will be a warm, relaxing experience.
