Long before Dr. Pedra Ane fully understood what it meant to be a professional counselor, she knew she wanted to be one. As a young child, she easily connected with people and their stories. With a keen eye she observed how adults and children responded to one another. She knew she wanted to spend her life doing something that tapped into her skills as a good listener with interest and empathy for the personal experiences of others.
Her love of people and their journeys is the catalyst for her practice. Dr. Ane gravitates toward helping people utilize their strengths to address challenges they face. Believing each individual is the expert about their own life, Dr. Ane doesn't have magic answers for those with whom she works. She is committed to working side-by-side with each person to help discover and use tools they already possess as well as learn new strategies to help look at the challenge from a different perspective and/or respond in a different way.
