Hello! Life challenges happen. How we process those challenges determines many things—how we feel about ourselves, how present we are in our lives, the quality of our relationships, and how much enjoyment and pleasure we experience. These challenges can become an integral part of our story but it isn’t always easy to create meaning out of the harder things in life. Negativity bias is real—these events stick to us like Velcro! How do we change that? And how do we create the best possible life with the events that we experience?

My name is Paula Ackermann and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina. My therapeutic style is warm and engaging with a curious and compassionate presence. I have training and experience with a variety of therapeutic forms which can be a part of our process including Solution Focused Therapy, Polyvagal Theory, Somatic Parts Work, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Health Coaching, and EMDR. Our work together will be driven by your values and goals and it can be short or long term.
