Choosing to start to work with a new therapist can be intimidating, whether it’s your first time or you’ve been in therapy forever. I respect this and try to make the process of starting therapy one that feels as comfortable as possible from the first session. I believe the most important part of being human is our ability to empathize with others, and therapy should be a space where we can tell our story and truly feel heard. I am experienced working with adolescents and adults with a wide variety of issues and diagnoses. I regularly treat depression, anxiety, PTSD/CPTSD, phobias, OCD, hoarding disorder, bipolar disorder, sexual issues (queer/kink-allied), and ADHD. I primarily utilize cognitive behavioral (CBT) and insight-oriented therapeutic approaches. Therapy is personal for me because I’ve been on the other side of the couch and experienced what a profound impact a good therapist can make. My hope as a therapist is to work sincerely to use the knowledge and skills I’ve gained to provide that same support for my clients.
