Welcome! I am the youngest of three children with two older sisters. Ironically, I turned out to be the sensitive one and felt different as early as I can remember. I wasn’t “tough”, competitive or assertive like many other boys. I did not learn the same way either. To this day, I am “neurodivergent”, fancy speak for learns and thinks differently. Feeling so different and processing everything so deeply made life challenging at times. I was a target for bullies who picked up on my vulnerabilities. Deep, painful feelings of rejection, worthlessness, shame, and self-loathing were unfortunate experiences I had to endure. Still, I’m grateful I never sacrificed my natural way of being in the world for the cultural ideal of emotional stoicism. My depth of experience has afforded me meaning and a greater sense of purpose. I was able to discover these gifts and appreciate them mainly through my own experiences in psychotherapy.
