About

Hello, My name is Patty Ortega and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 5 years of experience. I am passionate about helping individuals with challenges around depression, self-esteem, and anxiety that stem from trauma and relational conflict. I look forward to helping you to jumpstart your healing journey! My approach A strong therapeutic relationship using a person-centered approach is the foundation of my work. I use a variety of other approaches such as CBT, solution-focused, and EMDR, to help clients work towards achieving their therapeutic goals. My focus I enjoy working with teens and adults, POC, with issues around depression, anxiety, self-esteem, life transitions, and trauma. I enjoy helping others confront deep wounds and generational traumas that are impacting their self-esteem, and their relationship with themselves and others. My communication style My goal is to create a warm, safe, and supportive environment. I use feedback-informed treatment to allow clients to have an open dialogue about what works and what does not work in therapy and within the therapeutic relationship. My journey to mental healthcare Growing up in a Hispanic household with mental health struggles, I learned firsthand how important it is to prioritize mental health and seek help when needed. I feel extremely passionate about providing space to others with backgrounds where it is not necessarily the norm to get help and be the first to break some of those generational patterns. My goals for you At the beginning of treatment, I ask what clients would like to get out of treatment, and set goals with them. During treatment, I check in to see how progress is going and to assess for any new goals. My first session with you During the first session, clients should expect us to spend time talking about why they are seeking treatment, their symptoms, and building rapport. I ask a lot of questions to help us identify areas that we can focus on during treatment.
