I am Patrina Pica-Kras. Welcome to the journey of self-discovery through therapy. I have been practicing as a Mental Health Counselor, Psychotherapist, and Educator for 25-plus years. I am a Licensed Counselor, Social Worker, and Chaplain. I have extensive experience in many different diagnoses and deliver evidence-based therapies that work best with the presented issues. MY training and experience are utilized and tailored to meet different client needs and provide a positive, respectful and collaborative space that allows patients to flourish. My approach is person-centered, offering encouragement, listening, and collaborating with my clients. It is not easy to choose a therapist and start therapy. I love people and have compassion for that process. My goal is to meet the needs of my clients in assisting them in reaching their personal goals. I am honored to be invited on their journey and to help them achieve the changes they seek. Meeting a person where they are at and accessing their strengths is just the beginning. When a person enters therapy, it might be very uncomfortable at first. However, this is their journey, and I aim to walk alongside them as they work through the issues that brought them into therapy. I believe in the whole person. Therefore, I welcome discussions about chronic illness and spirituality. I enjoy faith-based counseling regardless of a person's type of faith. I am personally a Christian. However, as a hospital chaplain, I am open to all cultures and faiths. I have worked with many different types of mental health issues over the years and believe that no matter what the problem, everyone has personal strengths and self-worth and deserves respect and support. Additionally, I enjoy helping future Counselors become ethically minded, outstanding professionals that can meet the needs of others.
