My name is Tricia Maliszewski and I am currently licensed in NJ as an LPC with an LCADC currently pending. I graduated from Monmouth University with my master's degree in mental health counseling, specializing in addictions. I have experience in working with individuals who struggle with mood disorders and substance abuse. Additional work experience includes working in an inpatient/outpatient setting. I also have experience working in a correctional facility where the primary focus was substance abuse, mood disorders, and helping individuals re-enter society and reducing recidivism. I am currently working with the First Responder population via telehealth who struggle with substance use, mental health issues and trauma.

I believe in utilizing different theoretical approaches when it comes to treatment, including but not limited to: CBT, REBT, motivational interviewing, and trauma informed care. Each person deserves an individualized approach regarding their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. "The greatest sources of our suffering are the lies we tell ourselves." We are often stuck in the constructs of our past and upbringing, which influence our current thoughts, and prevents us from understanding the present as it is. It is important to confront those barriers that prevent us from being able to move forward from trauma, addiction, and a negative sense of self, by empowering the individual to live in the reality of the present.
