About

You've already begun the process of creating the life you want by seeking therapy. Whether this is your first experience or, you've sought the help of a therapist in the past, I want to welcome you to this unique journey and let you know I am here to support and guide the process. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Colorado. For the past 8+ years, I have had the privilege of working with individuals, couples and families in a variety of settings from private practice to in-patient treatment. My approach to therapy is primarily strengths-based which basically means that I believe you already possess strength and resiliency that has brought you through tough things in your life. We will explore what those strengths are, how they’ve served you and, how you can use them in whatever situation is troubling you now.

Some days can feel like the world is shifting and changing faster than we can keep up with it, especially during times of transition such as, moving, death of a loved one, unemployment, new baby, marriage, divorce, etc., Trauma, past and present, can also create feelings and relationship issues that make life confusing or, unmanageable. In some cases, those feelings show up as physical symptoms in your body; lack of motivation, insomnia, anxiety, just to name a few. Therapy can help you manage these feelings and symptoms by helping you find ways to process and cope with whatever is going on in your life.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am trained to help you look at your relationships, past and present, how they impact you and the issues you are facing, how you can recognize unhealthy patterns you may have carried with you into your adult life and, decide what you’d like to keep and what does not serve you anymore. I enjoy working with people who would like help with self-esteem/self-worth, unhealthy attachments, life transitions, establishing boundaries in relationships and healing past relational trauma.

I hold a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a Clinical Fellow of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor-Candidate. I continue to expand my education and stay informed in the field of systemic therapy by regularly attending workshops, trainings and conferences.

Therapy is a great way to care for yourself and a brave step in your own healing process. I want to help you “unpack” the things in your life that may be holding you back, so you can live the life you want and deserve to live. Therapy is hard work but, I am here to support and guide the process as much as possible.

The way change happens in therapy is through the therapeutic relationship (between the client and their therapist), if it’s a good ‘fit’. If you decide it’s not a good fit for you for any reason, you are more than welcome to work with a different therapist. If the issues you are struggling with are outside my area of expertise, I will recommend you seek help from a therapist who would be better suited to address your needs.

When you look at my schedule, you'll notice that Find A Therapist shows appointments as 30-minute time slots. I prefer to schedule 50-minute sessions because it allows time for me to help you to explore your needs and goals in therapy. 30-minute appointments are great for a more brief check-in's occasionally or, if you need to speak to me briefly but, do not have a full, 50-minutes from time-to-time. I look forward to getting to know you better and feel honored to join you on this journey!
