Welcome to Find A Therapist! Often seeking counseling, whether it is your first time or you have returned often, is a big step. I honor you for being here.

I began my journey of service as an R.N. Following getting my R.N. license I entered the University of South Carolina, where I earned a B.A. with a triple major in Philosophy, Psychology, and Religion. Those were and are my favorite subjects. I received my M.S.W. from the University of Louisville with a specialty in Clinical Practice.
My work has taken me from hospital inpatient psychiatric units, where I dealt with individuals who were emotionally critically wounded and in severe crisis. I provided counseling on an outpatient basis as well as worked with those in an emergency psychiatric crisis. I also created my own successful independent counseling practice where I worked mainly with individuals, and couples.

Currently I am licensed in South Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have 40 years’ experience helping individuals deal with depression, stress, anxiety, relationship issues and intimacy, conflict resolution, empowerment, trauma, and family conflict. My style of counseling is compassionate, open hearted and honest. I work from the vantage point of client centered therapy with a humanistic, psychodynamic, solution focus.

I will check my messages at least twice a day, seven days a week, and more if I feel it is needed. I provide messaging, live chat, phone, and video sessions with limited availability on weekends. The video session will last approximately 45 minutes, unless we decide on a 30 minute session. Please, always check with me through messaging just in case my calendar doesn't reflect my availability.

I believe that counseling is a sacred union. So much so that I respect and hold it with the strictest level of confidentiality. I feel it is my responsibility to sincerely hear and see you, and to offer you the gifts I have. You have chosen to work with me and share your story. I consider that sacred. I won’t perceive you as broken, but rather as the gift you are. Realistically you wouldn’t be seeking counseling if you were totally happy about your current situation. That’s where our work comes in and our journey together begins. We will do this together. I will make a covenant to join you until we get on the other side where you want to be.
