If you are exploring Find A Therapist, it is likely that you are struggling with something significant in your life. Finding the right person to help you through these challenges is very important. If you don't have a good relationship with your counselor, you won't make the progress you are hoping to achieve. I want to provide you with some information about me in order to help you decide if my experience and style is the right match for you.
I have worked in the field of Social work for over 22 years, with 14 years of that at the Master level with being Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 10 years. I specialize working with those who deal with past and current Trauma, and may have PTSD, C-PTSD, DID, utilizing Processing therapy, EMDR, CBT, and several others in my Tool box. I also work with Borderline Personality disorders, and am Certified in Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT) utilized Mindfulness, Interpersonal effectiveness, Emotional Regulation, and Distress Tolerance. Plus I use these different therapy styles to help those with Anxiety, Depression, and Grief.
My counseling style is one of acceptance, no judgment, encouragement, validation, and empathy. I have life experiences that I have been able to move forward with and now help others do the same. If you feel we will be a good fit, we will work on problem solving, strength building, calming techniques, dealing with triggers and how to decrease them and the affects it has on your life. I believe in helping others help themselves by building a life worth living.
