About
Hello, my name is Pamela Gray MS LPC. I have been practicing in the therapeutic field for almost 20 years. I believe in client-person therapy where we work together collaboratively and you, the client, reach your own conclusions about where you are going and how you are going to get there, on your own. I practice non-judgmental therapy and positive regard by always remembering to meet you where you are at in your journey. My approach I use a lot of Rogerian in the treatment process but rely heavily on CBT and DBT, as these are all theories that help you make the most productive decision the members can make for themselves, and I just facilitate your journey. My focus I have worked with a lot of different diagnoses in many different fields over the course of my career. Now I primarily focus on anxiety and depression, as well as trauma for those who have not had the best of their experiences while in childhood to adulthood. I mainly work with adolescents 13-18 and young adults to 50. My communication style I try to set the tone to be as relaxed as possible, making the members feel as if they are home. I have a large family myself and so I am used to being toned down and quiet while being watchful for what is not being said. My journey to mental healthcare I have always been in the helping profession in one way or another. But having to make the decision to seek out therapy myself and having a good therapist to help me along the way helped me realize that I wanted to do the same for others in need. My goals for you I work with the member to do goal setting, giving worksheets out to help them narrow their focus down on what they really want to work on. Once that is done the rest is pretty easy. My first session with you Our first session is about getting to know each other, areas that we both have in common and outlining their childhood history.
