About

My name is Osa J Holmes [MSED LCSW CCTP RRT] . I am a compassionate healer with more than 35 years of experience working with children, teens and adults in mental health, substance abuse and educational settings and in my private practice. My focus and passion in the work is based in a belief that all therapy interventions should be of value to the recipient, and all wounds and conflicts can be lessened. Skilled attention to them in a safe environment is the key, and I have studied and practiced for decades to offer that skilled environment and facilitate the journey to resolution for the people I serve.

I am an experienced teacher, having presented classes for parents, infants, pre-school, and K-12 in the behavioral classroom. I've taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Maine [UMF] as well as Indian River State College. I'm also a qualified Behavioral Health assessor, having provided comprehensive assessment of infants, children and adults for the Department of Human Services and Department of Juvenile Justice, and has served many times as an expert witness. As a teacher, I have supervised student teachers in their journey to licensure, as well as supervising clinical social workers, in their internships and their journey to an independent license.

I often work with children or adults who are seeking to resolve upset, related to behavioral concerns, trauma histories and life challenges including addiction. I have experience working with children with special needs and their families, working with the resolution of panic and anxiety, depression ad other mood disturbances, in individual, family or group therapy. I have worked with children separated from their families and transitioning to independence or to a new home placement. The primary focus of my work is in resolving what is presented as "the challenge" and assisting in the transition to more ease and comfort in relationships and life situations.

I look forward to working with you!
