About
Nykala completed her undergraduate degree in 2013 at Eastern Washington University in the Applied Developmental Psychology program. She obtained her Masters of Arts in Mental Health Counseling in 2016 from Colorado Christian University and completed her internship at the Spokane Veterans outreach Center. Nykala is experienced in working with Veterans, Trauma, Addiction, Mood disorders, Co-occurring disorders and those involved with the criminal justice system.
Nykala primarily utilizes a cognitive behavioral therapy approach. This modality aims to raise awareness of how perceptions feed beliefs and behaviors then modify them to meet goals. Nykala is also trained in EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and is well versed in many other approaches.
It can be hard to reach out for help, but it can also be the thing that will benefit you the most. It takes more strength than we realize to do just that and I encourage you to take that initial step towards positive change.
