About

Greetings! I am a licensed professional counselor in Oregon with over a decade's worth of experience. I also hold dual board certification with the National Board of Certified Counselors as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). Board certification promotes professional accountability and provides clients with a method to have concerns reviewed in regard to the NBCC Code of Ethics. I have worked in community mental health, medical clinics and in private practice; and I have a wide-ranging set of therapeutic modalities and comfort working across populations. Over the years, I have worked with children, adolescents and adults and have provided services in inpatient, outpatient, community-based and school-based settings. I am committed to providing trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, strength-based, client-focused therapy and look forward to working with you to help you meet your goals.

I believe that everyone can reach an optimum state of health by establishing a supportive therapeutic relationship in which one is empowered to be fully involved in all aspects of their treatment. Person-centered treatment honors an individual’s life goals that promote safety, hope, resiliency, and recovery by providing services that meets self-identified needs and goals. My role as a counselor is to help individuals understand their options, develop meaningful goals, and make their own informed choices about their treatment, rather than being passive to “advice.” Treatment is developed based on personal strengths, is culturally sensitive, and may involve family and other natural supports.

I employ an integrative approach with a strong reliance on cognitive-behavioral aspects. Other therapeutic modalities that I use frequently include mind-body interventions, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Narrative Therapy. Techniques from these various theoretical bases work well for a broad array of issues, and will provide you with strategies to reduce problematic symptoms and help you rediscover the joy in your life.

Every great journey starts with a single step forward. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working alongside you to help you be the person you were meant to be!
