About

Hello! For the past 16 years I have worked in the mental health field first as a therapist for children on the autism spectrum, with a focus on person-centered behavioral modification, and then as a licensed professional counselor. In 2015 my career shifted to working with adults with a variety of disorders, including borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, physical and emotional trauma, interpersonal struggles, anxiety, and depression. Also, as a member of a dialectical behavioral therapy team and as director of a mobile crisis team I developed skills to address acute crises including suicidal ideation and self-harm.

My therapy style is warm and interactive. I encourage self-care and positive self-talk. I believe in a strong non-judgmental stance, and I employ both compassion and the balance of emotional support and the belief that you are able to take action steps for positive change in your life. My approach combines teaching mindful awareness, cognitive behavioral strategies, and dialectic behavioral strategies, to help you to get to know who you are, and feel in control of your life and your happiness. I also use exposure therapy and prolonged exposure therapy, depending on your own fears or trauma responses. I love teaching self love, and helping you see your self-worth. I know what a trauma history can do to an individual, and I am very mindful myself that no person's experience is more or less important than others'. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

I know that despite modern awareness, some people still struggle with a stigma around getting mental health treatment. Please reach out, and give therapy a try! As a society we believe in exercising our bodies-exercising our way of thinking and mental health is just as important, if not more.

I am so excited to meet you. Let's find your deepest self and unlock your amazing potential! I can't wait to meet you and get you to a happier you!
