Hi! My name is Nicole and I have a masters degree in mental health counseling, am a licensed professional counselor and a licensed addictions counselor. My focus has been alcohol and drug abuse issues and being able to support/educate family members struggling with a loved one and their addiction. I have worked directly with clients and their families in the substance abuse field for 11 years in a variety of settings like detox, inpatient, residential treatment for adults and adolescents and outpatient medication assisted treatment programs. My passion is working with those struggling with their addiction and helping families with intervention services. It’s important for loved ones to be educated and supported with how to help in these situations, when it seems like the rest of the world just doesn’t get it.

Some other areas of focus and specialty of mine are postpartum adjustment related issues, and chronic illness issues as it relates to mental health. For example, someone with Type 1 Diabetes who suffers anxiety and control issues because they cannot control aspects of their chronic illness, so they become overly anxious and controlling of other aspects of their life. Using evidence based treatment approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, helps us to understand how we think and feel can contributes to our behaviors. I am always in a client centered frame of mind and willing to meet you where you are at. Solution focused therapy can be helpful for those brief goal directive needs or using mindfulness over a period of time, where we can focus more time into our feelings and thoughts in the moment.
