About
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. My therapeutic approach is based in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Humanistic Therapy. My counseling style is very open and is tailored to assist clients in working through whatever areas may be causing them distress. I take pride in being able to create a safe place for my clients to be comfortable with discussing sensitive topics, and knowing that they are in a completely judgement free zone. I aim to assist my clients in sorting through whatever obstacles they are facing, while providing them with the knowledge to successfully cope with these stressors in hopes that they can move onto a happier lifestyle. Seeking therapy is already a great first step and I am excited to help my clients through whatever they are experiencing.
I studied at Lynn University earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. As well as at Nova Southeastern University, where I earned a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling. While earning my Masters Degree I worked with at risk youths and young adults who were exposed to high degrees of stress. My post-graduate experience was also with this population, although I explored many new areas of stressors with my clients. A majority of my experience during the last four years is in: anxiety, fear, guilt, addiction, substance use, trauma, stress management, anger management, ADHD, and impulsivity. I am also experienced in: family issues, depression, obsessive compulsive disorders, coping with life changes, and self-esteem.
Once we begin working together I will be challenging you to identify the areas in your life that you consider to be stressors that are harmful to your mental health and how we can begin to improve these areas to get you moving onto a happier lifestyle. I am really looking forward to helping you work through these stressors and getting you to a peaceful place in life where you will consider yourself to be in a healthy space.
