Everyone, Hello! My name is Nicole Kirven and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor located in Virginia. I have over 20 years of experience in community and office-based individual, group and family counseling. I have worked with adolescents and adults with a variety of presenting problems such as substance abuse, depression, anxiety, grief, phase of life changes, relationship issues, and many more. I am certified in Motivational Interviewing. I am also certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for depression, anxiety, and ADHD.

As a specialty, throughout the years I have assisted our mother baby population in addressing challenges of substance abuse and addiction, teen pregnancy, loss of a child, and postpartum depression to name few. I also address coaching concerns of breaking the glass ceiling and work life balance. Lastly, I possess a strong back ground of understanding the chain of command to assist with military concerns and implement behavioral approaches.

Overall, I choose an open and inviting path, to assist you with navigating through the challenges of your daily life. We work together to confront barriers that impede growth and progress. I use an eclectic tool kit inclusive of Cognitive Behavioral, Solution-focused, Motivational Interviewing, and Mindfulness Therapy, to name a few, to tailor my approach to your needs and specifications.
