About

My name is Nicole Teel and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) trained. In 10 years of working in behavioral health, I have had the honor of working with clients ranging in ages from 18-95 years old, clients of varying racial, ethnic, religious, and gender identities. I have served individuals, couples, and groups while working at a private counseling agency, a hospital system, as a faculty instructor in academia, and at a non-profit integrated care clinic.

My expertise lies in treating symptoms related to substance use disorders, depression, anxiety/panic, trauma, co-occurring conditions, grief and loss, relationship issues, communication, life transitions, stress, self-esteem, chronic pain, and career/work conflicts.

My philosophy in clinical work is to always meet my clients where they are. Clients decide the topics they want to work on with goals of their choosing. I will always provide an objective, safe, non-judgmental space to process issues while honoring identity as part of this experience. My theoretical orientation is in cognitive behavioral therapy, client-centered therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing. I integrate various compliments of stabilization skills into my work when appropriate such as mindfulness, grounding techniques, somatic work and EMDR.

I pride myself on building a therapeutic alliance and trust with my clients in addition to always having an empathic and validating ear. I am honored and ecstatic to have the opportunity to help clients!
