My name is Nicholas Marchand, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor who has a variety of experience working in both public and private settings. I have worked in community mental health as a crisis counselor working with children, adolescents, and families. I also have several years of experience working in a private practice setting with adults who have mental health and substance use disorders. Additionally, I have facilitated therapy groups in detox, residential, partial hospitalization, and outpatient programming. I am also trained in EMDR. I am a graduate of Argosy’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program and have an undergraduate degree from Northeastern Illinois University. I enjoy working with both teens and adults to address mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, assist with life transitions, or address issues pertaining to addiction and anger management. My work combines counseling skills with established theoretical approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing to help clients achieve their goals.
