My name is Nia Nimmers. I grew up in Los Angeles, California. I attended Pepperdine University, where I double majored in Psychology, and Religion. I continued my education at Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology and received my Masters in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I started my career working with elementary-aged children in the school context. I loved spending time with the kids but found that I wanted to make a greater impact on the family through couple work. I continued my work at two different group practices in the DFW area. This is where my skill and passion for marital work grew and solidified. I specialized in both sides of the spectrum of couples; premarital couples who are excited about the start of their marriages, and high-conflict couples who are on the brink of ending their marriages. Nothing gives me more joy than to get to know couples, collaborate with them, and counsel them in the areas in which they struggle.
