About
It is incredibly difficult for any of us to reach out for help; I applaud you for making it over here and getting your foot through the virtual therapeutic door.
Every person's story is unique and no two stories are the same. I consider myself fortunate to be in a profession that allows me to be with you as you navigate your own unique story.
I have worked as a psychotherapist for a number of years and have been lucky to build strong therapeutic relationships with clients ranging in age, stage of life, and facing their own unique mental health barriers. I feel that my valuing the individual's unique experience and complexities without judgment is what has allowed me to build strong foundations of trust between myself and clients. I believe in treating my clients with respect and facing their moments of pain and hardship with warmth and sensitivity. The resulting trust and safe space we build is the basis for the authentic work that we do together, which has proven to decrease symptoms and build a more resilient and thriving individual.
I have worked as a psychotherapist providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families; I have also facilitated mental health support groups and acted as a supervisor for social work students. I have worked with clients ranging in age from 6-95. Much of my work with clients has been focused on symptoms of anxiety, depression, bereavement, and trauma. Other areas of focus have included infertility, life transitions, managing relationships, socialization, and aging.
My therapeutic approach is warmly collaborative and non-judgmental, encouraging a safe space for self-reflection and growth. I generally work from a psychodynamic approach and incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I participated in post graduate training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at the Beck Institute specializing in Anxiety and I have previously pursued trainings in Psychodrama, Trauma Systems Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
Now that your foot is through that door... you might as well sit down. I would love to get to know you...beyond that virtual shoe :)
