About

My name is Natalie Graves and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Sacramento, California, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults and adolescents dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, trauma, life stressors, family and relationship conflicts, and self-esteem issues using models such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. My approach My approach to therapy depends on the needs of each client I work with. I do not believe one size fits all as every client has unique needs. I most frequently use Narrative Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as I find both of these support me in partnering with the client to meet them where they are, own their stories, and give them tools to feel self-confident, in control of their emotions, and able to navigate successfully in relationships with others. My focus I have over 8 years of experience working with adolescents and adults experiencing challenges with anxiety, depression, trauma, strained family relationships, stress, lack of self-confidence, gender and sexuality struggles, self-harm behaviors, overwhelm, shame, life transitions and social pressures, and grief and loss. I work to help my clients understand and accept themselves, as well as build skills to help them navigate life's challenges with more confidence so that they can feel better about themselves and their ability to handle what comes their way. My communication style My communication style fosters a sense of calm and acceptance. I listen without judgment and strive to join my clients where they are so that they feel heard, understood, supported, and most importantly unconditionally accepted for who they are. I love to use humor where appropriate as I believe laughter is healing.
