My name is Dr. Nashat Shams, from Chicago, Illinois. I’m a physician and a Health Psychologist who has worked in this industry since 2005. I have extensive expertise in counseling people from a variety of cultural backgrounds and ages; my sensitive approach toward multicultural groups stems from my multicultural family background and ethnicity. I did two research projects on women’s post-traumatic growth and got the opportunity to discuss my findings on several platforms. My professional expertise as a physician benefited my clinical skills as a psychologist, especially in understanding the mind-body connection and vice versa. I am a calm and mild-mannered woman who acts tactfully and discreetly under challenging situations in my professional and personal life. My therapeutic practices aim to empower my clients by teaching them new coping skills and making them stronger as individuals. I am looking forward to meeting you!
