You can send me a message here at any time and as often as you want, though I typically check and respond to messages 1 time per day during weekdays. I take weekends and federal holidays off. If you were looking for a therapist that does live chat, video sessions, or phone calls please know that you are well within your right to change to a counselor that provides those services, as I only provide services through messenger. If you feel we aren't a good fit for this reason and you need assistance in changing counselors you are well within your right to do so.

Please note that Find A Therapist makes it very easy to request to be matched with a different therapist; therefore, if you do want to work with a therapist who offers video/phone and messaging, there is a simple solution. You can go up to the "help" tab and click on change counselor/therapist. That will allow you to be matched with a therapist who offers more options for your therapeutic needs. It is important to me that you get the experience and have the opportunities that are right for you.

I am licensed clinical social worker in Minnesota with over 8 years of experience as a therapist. I also have over 10 years of experience working with families as a social worker in hospital setting and family services. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and much more. I also helped those who have experienced trauma or abuse. I have experience working with teens, and adults at varying points of life from young adult challenges, mid-life difficulties and elder concerns.

My counseling style is warm, interactive, and non-judgmental. My strengths are genuine caring, open listening, encouraging, validating and support. I believe that the client is the expert on themselves so we work together to come up with goals and a treatment plan that supports your goals. My approach is primarily solution-focused. I am able to work thru many modalities and we can try different skills/techniques and find what is going to work for you.
