About

Thank you for taking the courage to seek help.

My name is Naneth Ruiz LCMHC, NCC, BC-TMH. I have 10 years of professional experience as a licensed therapist at my private practice, Consejeria Ruiz, PLLC in North Carolina. I blend different theoretical approaches in my therapy style to effectively address the unique needs of each client. I have an eclectic theoretical approach to my work.

My experience includes working with clients who have faced complex interpersonal traumas. Creating a safe environment for clients is my utmost priority in therapy sessions. I firmly believe in being congruent with my clients. I use evidence-based tools like modeling, role-playing, and different activities to help clients connect with their emotions to meet them where they are. In my opinion, it is crucial to listen to the clients' story in order to facilitate their healing through therapy. Sometimes, extended therapy sessions are necessary, especially when clients are working through trauma and finally beginning to open-up about their struggles, benefiting from the added support. In certain cases, extended sessions promote deeper and more comprehensive work, building an emotional bond and trust for collaborative therapy and learning, empowering clients to face their fears.

I have provided mental health services to a variety of clientele, including but not limited to, young children from ages 7 and up, adolescents, adults, families, and groups. Areas of competence include mental and emotional disorders, diagnosis and treatment [utilizing the DSM-5 TR], interpersonal complex trauma, relational issues, communication issues, grief, self-esteem, coping skills, domestic violence, and anger management. I offer professional counseling services to individuals needing assistance in coping with life stressors. I use a variety of theoretical orientations: Relational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Experiential Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, as well as Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques in my private practice with clients.

Learning to cope with life challenges and finding confidence in our choices is essential. You possess the strength to triumph over any difficulties life may present. Always remember, you are important and your existence matters. Our focus in therapy will be to build upon your many existing strengths. Healing is possible and it will happen. Believe in Believing. I am committed to supporting you along your journey.

You are not alone.

I'm looking forward to working with you.
