About

I am licensed in New Mexico as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) since 2000. I graduated from University of the Southwest with a Master’s Degree in Psychology. I have worked in the school system, hospitals/ER, school base clinic, outpatient mental health clinic, private practice, as well as detention facilities, Children’s Youth & Family Department (CYFD), and with local law enforcement. I am excited to be a part of the new approach of telehealth counseling to reach people who may be hesitant to seek out the power of therapy!

My primary therapy orientation is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, poor emotional regulation, anxiety, parental difficulties, PTSD, substance abuse, grief, stress, anger, and domestic violence. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My counseling style is interactive and focused. CBT entails that people experience psychological and emotional difficulties when thinking is distorted and the result leads to faulty solutions. I will challenge your thinking patterns so you are able to create a solution that will allow you to address the current problems that are causing you distress. Self-awareness is the first step to change and I will work with you to accomplish that. Sessions will evolve at your pace, but with my gentle guidance to help you obtain your goals. CBT allows for using multiple strategies and interventions that can be tailored to meet your unique and specific needs.

It takes courage to seek out guidance and help for inner, personal feelings. Life can be fulfilling and happy. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you.

I look forward to working with you!
