Hi, my name is Nancy Koene. I know how hard it is to pick the "right" therapist when you haven't been able to meet the person. I want to commend you for the step you are taking because it's hard to take this step when you may not feel your best right now. We are all different and it's important that you get what you need and pay for.
A bit about myself is that I am married and have adult children and grandchildren. I have worked with children and families for 25 years in different capacities as I am a social worker and have worked in different county systems providing different types of services that have included mentoring, case management, training, supervision, and management. I graduated with my Bachelors of Arts (BA) majoring in Psychology and Social Welfare in 1996 and my Masters in Social Work (MSW) in 2008. I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 2011.
I have always felt that everything happens for a reason, even if we don't know the reason right away. As you know, life has ups and downs and we all need support at different times in our life journey. At times, we can reach a point in our journey where we want to work on personal goals with someone that is not a family member or friend. My goal is to work with you by building a trusting, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship where you can feel safe and allow me to learn more about your life journey and we can work together, at your pace, on you feeling better.
