About

Therapy Philosophy

When times get hard, having someone in your corner can make all the difference. I approach therapy from a holistic, client-centered perspective. My goal is to help you navigate the challenges in your life by working together to make real, lasting changes for the better. My approach is at once compassionate and pragmatic, and my work with clients is never one-size-fits-all. I want to get to know who you are, what’s been working for you and what needs work. From there, we can work together to build a treatment plan tailored to your lifestyle and goals, on your timeline, with you in mind.

My approach uses a combination of CBT-style interventions (learning practical skills to deal with stressful thoughts, feelings and behaviors), trauma-informed care (looking at how the past affects the future) and mindfulness to keep you grounded in the present.

How I like to work and who I'm good for

Here on betterhelp, I love to take advantage of the unlimited messaging. I am particularly dedicated to thoughtful and timely written responses. These include journal prompts, therapeutic tips, and meaningful mantras tailored specifically for your unique goals and needs. Choosing the maintenance mode (which includes one live session a month) can be a good, affordable option for those who think they can benefit from this style.

I am also available for live sessions (let me know if you prefer 30 or 45 minutes). My areas of interest and expertise include, but are not limited to:

Dealing with imposter syndrome at work or home
Managing life with adult ADHD (while we don’t officially diagnose on betterhelp, I can help you identify symptoms and work on strategies for my absent minded professors)
Managing difficult relationships
Improving self esteem
Learning to set boundaries
Managing clutter and cleanliness
Fostering Motivation and resilience
Dealing with emotionally immature parents
Identifying and healing from narcissistic abuse
Working through addictions (I support both abstinence and moderation)
Body repetitive movements (skin picking, hair pulling, etc)
OCD symptoms
Anxiety symptoms
Depression symptoms
Hoarding tendencies
Trouble making friends or succeeding in relationships
Video game addiction
Grief and loss
Shadow work
Personality theory (enneagram, meyers briggs, big 5)
Attachment theory
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT)
The Four Agreements

Life optimization through nutrition, exercise, “biohacking”
Identifying and setting goals
Working with mindset and positive manifestations
Mindfulness training, meditation coaching

Bio Section (optional reading)

I received my master’s in clinical psychology in 2018 from Michigan School of Psychology in a program that focuses on humanistic, client-centered care. In my former life, I worked as a teacher and writer, after having received a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from the University of Montana in 2011. I did my undergraduate work at Wayne State University in Detroit, where I received a bachelor’s degree in English and Psychology, with a minor in film studies. My work and life history has taken me across the country, working with all ages and backgrounds on pursuits at once creative, intellectual and spiritual. I’m a trained meditator, having sat for multiple ten-day vipassana meditation retreats, a big believer in physical exercise and a creative weirdo at heart.

Thanks for taking the time to check me out. I would be so honored to work with you!
