Hello Everyone! Welcome to the wonderful world of psychotherapy. This is Mohammed Chowdhury. I am LCPC (Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor) in Illinois. I have been working in the field of mental health for almost two decades. I bring years of personal experience along with genuine and solid empathy for the people I work with. I use different modalities to assist me in providing my best self as a psychotherapist. For example, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Change Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Trauma-informed care are worth mentioning. I have years of experience in working with dual diagnosis ( mental health and addiction issues). I have worked with individuals, and couples as well as led groups. I have worked with adults as well as youngsters and teenagers. My approach to therapy is rooted in a strengths-based perspective. I assist my clients in discovering their strengths, qualities and resources and leave them to identify their areas of need and the areas of their lives they need to work on. Then I assist them to set their own goals both short term and long term based on their needs. I assist them in identifying how they can pursue those goals using their strengths and resources. I believe in empowering my clients to make their own decisions and using their own problem-solving skills and decision-making skills. I believe that success builds on each other and my clients will continue to succeed building on their strengths, makiing progress, taking credit for their progress, getting genuine encouragement, getting genuine applause, genuine guidance and building their self esteem, self confidence. People usually know what they want to do with their lives. They just need support and assistance. I am here to provide that support and assistance in the best professional manner possible.
