Hi! I’m M’Linda McGuire, M.A., LPC. With over 15 years of counseling experience, my area of expertise lies in helping individuals overcome the effects of trauma, which I define as “any experience from the past that continues to impact your present.” While traditional talk therapy can be beneficial for some individuals and may help in learning to cope with symptoms, trauma processing focuses specifically on healing traumatic experiences and reducing or eliminating symptoms of trauma. I also specialize in helping individuals whose lives are impacted by anxiety disorders, phobias, and grief. My goal is to guide my clients towards healing so that they can experience greater peace and fulfillment in their lives and move towards a future of their own design. To provide the most effective treatment for my clients, I am Certified in two trauma processing modalities, EMDR and ImTT. In my experience, these therapies have been highly effective in helping clients overcome the effects of trauma and are also effective in treating anxiety disorders, phobias, and grief so my clients can find increased contentment in their lives. I believe that compassion is a cornerstone of healing and wellness. I strive to build supportive, compassionate, and empathic relationships with my clients, balanced with an honest and more directive communication style. My goal is to support my clients through a collaborative relationship that helps build healing resources for the difficulties in life.
