Welcome! You have made a courageous and brave step in asking for help and I am so pleased to be able to work with you.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist with over 9 years of experience. I am experienced with individual counseling as well as couples counseling. My specialties include treating anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, LGBT issues, and treating military families.

I begin working with clients by listening deeply to the issues that are troubling them and creating a space for authentic self expression. I believe therapy is a collaborative process between the therapist and client. I believe there are two experts in the counseling relationship. There is you, the expert on yourself and myself, the expert in therapy and healing. Together we can create change, but it takes effort and motivation on both parts. During treatment I use a variety of interventions which are drawn from different therapeutic modalities. Therapy looks different with each client, as I tailor treatment to the individual. I utilize interventions that target feelings, thoughts (insights), behaviors, and the sensations in the body depending on what I believe my client will respond best to. As therapy is a collaborative process, feedback from my clients is highly important to me and I encourage clients to be honest and open when something is or is not working for them. Ultimately, I believe therapy can only be as successful as the depth of the relationship between the therapist and the client and how well the communicate together.
