About
My name is Mija Lee, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who is passionate about helping my clients regain inner balance and control through life’s challenges and struggles. My approach I take on a holistic and client-centered foundation, utilizing evidence-based methods to accomplish the best outcome. I utilize various evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques (MBSR), and more. I provide culturally sensitive therapy respecting cultures, values, family dynamics, and the uniqueness of each client. My focus I’ve worked with children, adolescents, adults, and families since 2017 in outpatient mental health clinics and school districts and specialize in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, OCD, gender issues, developmental disorders including ADHD and Autism related issues, and behavioral issues in various age groups. My communication style I believe that “love is hearing” so I strive to listen with unconditional positive regard and thorough understanding. My communication style is personable and calm, but vibrant with occasional humor. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me based on mutual trust so they can freely explore their difficult situations and concerns. I always respect each client’s unique conditions and hardships and strived to make my clients feel “heard” and “understood” My journey to therapy I am a first-generation immigrant, studious old student, traveler, and believer in positive thinking. Through my various life and work experiences with people of many different cultures, I deeply understand that we all feel overwhelmed with daily stressors, relationships, jobs, and the uncertainty of life.
