Since graduating from the University of Northern Iowa in 1996 I have served a multitude of people, cultures, nationalities as well as social groups for 25 years plus in a variety of social situations. Working with age groups from preschool, kindergarten to a very mature 90 or more. During this time, I have had the pleasure of serving a variety of ethnicities/cultures/ and religions from around the entire world concerning issues of assimilation, problem solving and learning how to cope with any mental health concerns or medical concerns the person is experiencing at any time of their lives (including AIDS and Cancer(s). Other issues of concerns for persons have also been stress, anxiety, ADHD, grief/loss, depression, panic attacks, anger, mood disorders, self-esteem/self-worth, identity, family dynamics and changes, substance or co-occurring disorders, and rehabilitation with any of these issues. Even things as aging, physical loss, and chronic pain.
To continue my education and improve other ways of assisting people better their lives I attended St. Ambrose University earning my master’s degree in social work, then working with other clinical social workers to earn my Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license for Illinois and (LISW) license for Iowa. I have a never give up attitude and encourage “thinking outside the box” sometimes to move forward with life and feel better. I remind people who seek my service that we are more than a DSM label or a term that defines sexuality, as you are you and not a label. Encouraging individuals to keep moving forward, never giving up and helping to reach your goals.
