Hello and welcome. I have been licensed as a therapist since 2006. I have chosen this career because I am a good listener, have been called upon for my opinion or advice, and I’m non-judgmental and empathetic. My interest in this healing field has been with me well before I actually formalized my education. I believe that you as an individual are unique, and deserve the very best guidance, understanding and direction. I would love to help contribute to your sense of well-being while in therapy, and as you fly your independent wings I use a few chosen therapeutic approaches: Cognitive Behavioral is one method that has proven to help in the way we use our thoughts. Sometimes we aren’t aware that our thoughts can determine the way we are feeling. By looking at this picture, we can begin to change our negative thoughts and feel a sense of peace and yes, even joy. Secondly, I’m very tuned in to Family Systems. We are creatures of habit. Therefore, we all have carried our not-so-pleasant habits for a long time because they are all we know. This is not a fault, just a changeable misconception. Perhaps we are raised to believe that we will never go farther than we have gotten. Maybe we believe that some goals are impossible. We can begin to identify things that may have stopped us from feeling our very best about life. Welcome to a journey that takes courage and dedication. Welcome aboard!
