About

Hi there, I'm Michelle! Hello, I am Michelle Pack, LMFT. I focus on building positive relationships with my clients and reducing negative symptoms. I have many years of experience working with foster care and adoption and issues relating to trauma, grief/loss and adoption. My approach I believe the most important aspect of therapy is the relationship with the therapist. It's important that you feel comfortable and feel like we are a "good fit." I mainly use a Cognitive Behavioral and/or Solution-Focused approach to help my clients see the changes they want in their lives. My focus I mostly work with individuals, from pre-teen to adult, and sometimes couples. I'm comfortable addressing anxiety, depression, sleep issues, work problems, grief/loss, adoption-related issues, difficulties of being a foster parent, relationship and parenting problems. My communication style People tell me I have a kind, calming presence and that I make them feel comfortable and accepted. I am a quiet person by nature and tend to be gentle and soft-spoken, but I also enjoy adding humor when appropriate. My journey to therapy Even as a young child, peers would trust me to "hold their secrets" and seek support from me. I always held that trust with great confidence. As I grew up and continued to experience those types of relationships, as well as trust from complete strangers, it became apparent that I had a unique gift of listening but also seeing people for who they are and who they could be, even if they couldn't see or believe it. As I went through school and realized I didn't want to be an English teacher, I began to study psychology and fell in love with the deeper knowledge that made my childhood gifting make sense as an adult. I realized I could truly help people change and the joy I saw in people as they shared with my their success was absolutely infectious. My goals for you I believe goal setting should mainly be directed by the client, but I am happy to suggest goals.
