Hello, My name is Michelle (Shelly) McDaniel. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and groups within mental health and medical settings. My approach My therapy style is collaborative and multifaceted. I use multiple theories to guide my practice however I most often utilize, Solution Focused, CBT, and Narrative Therapy. My goal as a therapist is to instill improved self-confidence in order for you to navigate life’s obstacles. I strive to provide a safe space for you to express yourself so we can effectively collaborate and work through your challenges together. I intend to empower you to make the best choices for your situation and will consistently provide active, supportive listening and positive feedback. I hope you provide me the opportunity to work beside you and help you in becoming the best version of yourself. My focus I have experience working with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, trauma, and stressor-related disorders, inattention/hyperactivity issues, as well as, substance addictions. My communication style My hope is to have free-flowing conversations where we get to know one another. I try my best to communicate in a way that makes you feel your views, opinions, and needs are clearly understood. My journey to mental healthcare I obtained my Master of Social Work from Azusa Pacific University in 2013 and became an LCSW in 2018. During my career, I have spent time working with children and adolescents through multiple Children’s Intensive Services contracted with the Department of Mental Health. I’ve also had the opportunity to transition into Medical Social Work and collaborate with patients who suffer from chronic illnesses. Most recently, I have been exploring and completing training courses on psychedelic therapies I do not provide psychedelic therapy as it is illegal.
