About

Hello, My name is Michelle Donovan MS, LPC. I am a licensed practical Counselor with over 15 years of direct clinical experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I have worked in both in home and outpatient setting working with a wide range of mental health and behavioral disorders which include: Depression, AODA, ADHD, Bi-polar Disorder, Trauma, as well as parenting issues, communication approaches, and other interpersonal behavioral issues that not only effect the person but others in the home and within the dynamics of the community. I have demonstrated a strong professional skill base working with diversity within the family and in the community. I have a strong skill base working with youth adolescent males that have been referred for sexually assault treatment both individually and in a group setting. I have also been professionally trained to use Narrative Therapy to treat Reactive Attachment Disorder. My years of experience and diverse knowledge have provided me with a great responsibility to give back to the communities that are most in need. I am passionate about my role as a clinician and am driven to provide quality mental health care to anyone seeking treatment.

My approach to treatment is described as strength based and client centered. I am empathic, compassionate, and highly engaged in the treatment models and modalities that resonate with my therapeutic style. That includes: using modalities that are within the scope of best practice and what is best for the client. I strive to create a safe, non judgmental, respectful, honest, and compassionate place for clients to openly share. I am trained to provide cognitive behavioral therapy, Adlerian therapy, Solution Focused, and I sprinkle in some Gestalt as needed. Remembering the client's needs drive the treatment process and that treatment modalities are specific to the desired outcome.

My professional goals are driven by the needs of our society and culture. Being a person that values integrity, honesty, and providing a healthy environment for client's to feel safe and willing to share. Engaging in rapport and developing a trusting relationship is key to finding a treatment provider that will support you with developing your new narrative, and helping you seek your life worth living. i.e. Our Best Life.
