About

Michelle received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from St. John’s University and went on to earn a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Amberton University. Subsequently, she secured Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor status and her Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor credential. During her career, Michelle has served as the Clinical Director for Homeward Bound and Phoenix Houses of Texas, Lead Counselor for New Day Counseling, and Director of Residential and Outpatient Services for Daytop Village. This accounts for over 30 years of progressively responsible professional experience in the Mental Health and Chemical Dependency fields. Perhaps most significantly, Michelle is an active voice in the Chemical Dependency community, who has served on several committees and is a regular attendee of various advocacy groups. She prides herself on her years of experience as a strong advocate for people struggling with addiction and mental illness and hopes to continue to be so in years to come. Michelle is also dedicated to physical fitness and is a personal trainer. Michelle believes strongly that the road to recovery is holistic and should take into consideration one’s physical health and nutrition.
