I am Michelle Samuelson, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. I have over 15 years experience in the mental health field. My approach I use an integrative approach that includes but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Strength Based Therapy. My focus I have extensive experience working with the military community. I see adults individually who may be in a life transition/adjustment in employment, relationships or health. I also see individuals experiencing general relationship issues who want to address the internal or external barriers they are currently struggling with. My communication style My sessions or a safe and confidential space. Together we strive towards self awareness, adaptive coping skills, and improved insight as we work through challenges. My journey to therapy With a heart to serve others, I was led into this profession and now I look forward to meeting you. I want to congratulate you on taking a step towards finding a better way to do life. My goals for you Therapeutic goals are collaboratively formulated to address the concerns that have brought you to therapy. Developing a strong clinical understanding of your experience guides our sessions towards that goal. My first session with you I believe that establishing trust is required for therapy to be successful. You and I will embark on this journey which takes an immense amount of courage and vulnerability on your part. Our first session will involve discussing the parameters of a therapeutic relationship and it's limitations which allow me to make the therapeutic process as transparent as possible every step of the way.
