I am Michelle DeMent, a Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation (LPC-MHSP) in the state of Tennessee.
I have over 15 years’ counseling experience and provide services for adult women and youth. I am also accustomed to working with military families.

Via a strengths-based approach, I utilize a variety of treatment modalities such as Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. Areas of clinical focus include stress, depression, anxiety, abuse, grief/loss, divorce, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and adjustment issues.

With a genuine heart to help, warmth, and a sense of humor, my goal is to walk alongside my clients in a relaxed and supportive environment. I believe that an integrated approach treating the whole person can lead to more lasting and substantial healing.

A little bit about me...I love the outdoors and enjoy hiking and fishing. I have a tender heart for stray animals which is why I have six pets! I am originally from Louisiana (yes, there were alligators in the bayous and moss on the trees) and moved to Tennessee in 2000 after completing my Master's degree in Counseling & Guidance.
