My Name is Michael Kyser and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) I have been practicing in the field for 7 years. I originally started off in the substance abuse population while in my master's program for Mental Health Counseling. I soon realized the over-growing rate of substance abuse clients with co-occurring disorders.Since then I have come to specialize in substance abuse, complex trauma, eating disorders, and many more. I also work with the LGBTQ+ population; which has been a good portion of my clientele. My main therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT focuses on challenging and changing unhelpful thought processes and negative behaviors, improving regulating emotions, and the development of personal coping skills that targets around the current issue(s). As a client, you will become more aware of the negative and often unrealistic thoughts that change your feelings and moods. The goal is for you to be able to start engaging in healthier thinking patterns and behaviors to live more functionally.
