My name is Michael Zito and I have been a licensed clinician (LPC) in the state of Connecticut for over 20 years. I am a graduate of the University of Connecticut's Counseling Psychology program which taught largely a Rogerian method of counseling through unconditional positive regard for the client. I have focused the majority of my career on treating clients with substance use and abuse disorders along with depression and anxiety disorders. I also possess a wealth of knowledge about medications and their indications, as I have worked very closely with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, including psychiatrist, to provide a whole person approach to change. I have also worked closely with young adults as an adjunct faculty member in psychology at a local community college. I believe that my experience, education and demeanor help clients feel supported and safe as they move through the stages of change while doing therapy with me and the hundreds of clients that I have worked with in my career serve as a testament to that.
