Merlyn Josende, LMHC, is a bilingual (English and Spanish) licensed mental health counselor and Qualified Supervisor for clinical mental health and marriage and family interns in the state of Florida. Her areas of focus include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, addiction, anger management, loss or grief, and marital/family counseling. For over 15 years she has worked in the field of mental health, providing psychotherapy to children, teens, adults, couples and families in outpatient, community, school and private practice settings. She also served as a Military & Family Life Consultant providing support to US service members and their families stationed overseas. She treats a wide range of psychological and emotional challenges including anxiety, depression, adjustments, transitions, and relationship issues. Merlyn utilizes an integrative approach that incorporates techniques of client centered, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral, solution-focused and systemic family therapy. Empathetic and flexible in her work, she focuses on meeting the individual needs of each client using a collaborative and person centered approach.
