Thank you for choosing me, Mercedes P Cisneros Watson -Watson MA., LCPC and Path for your Counseling needs. I “ Mercedes” a Native of Chicago, am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), in the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulations since 1998. My Clinical counseling experience spans over 30 years. My approach I draw from a variety of therapeutic orientations such as; Cognitive Behavioral Therapy., Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cultural Awareness Interventions, Interpersonal Counseling. Mindfulness-based Counseling, Systemic interventions, and Psycho-education, etc. Therapy approaches are not the same for everyone, each person is unique, as I get to know the Clients'/Patients’ needs I adapt to find an approach that is best suited for them, to inspire growth, change gain knowledge to live healthy lives. My focus My areas of clinical interest include addressing adult Women’s and Men’s life issues such as Intergenerational Trauma Survivors, Grief/ Loss, Divorce, Abusive relationships and, General Mood Disorders ie, Depression, General Anxiety Disorders. Gender Dysphoria, and Various personality disorders. I also have experience working in substance abuse. while I will not treat Substance Abuse, while working for Path, I am familiar with overuse patterns of substances and will provide psycho-education to help redirect and avoid continued deterioration of substance use. This population can include college students and any adult who at times struggle with adjustment issues at various life stages. My communication style I always want to welcome patients and thank them for the Privilege of allowing me to journey with them to; grow, learn together as I learn so much from clients. I inform them of logistical information I must share and I am scanning information I might have already reviewed, and I acknowledge their courage to meet with a stranger to share some personal information.
