Hi, my name is Melody Pillow, I am a Licensed Master Clinical Social Worker in Michigan and Indiana. If you choose me as your therapist we can work with each other Heart-2-Heart to bring back hope, harmony, peace, and happiness-but most importantly compassion for yourself and for other. My Therapeutic style is a holistic approach that focuses on the mind, body, spiritual connection giving you a safe, healing place to talk.

I have over 25 years of experience in Home-Visiting Programs and also worked in Rural Indian and Migrant Health Clinics. Trained in Cultural Competence and Collaborative Healing Techniques we will work together using SMART goals that build on resiliency, resourcefulness, and responsiveness.

My educational background is in Family Studies across the life span, Interpersonal Social Work, and Integrated Behavioral Health Management. I earned my Bachelor’s in Science and my Masters of Clinical Social Work both at Western Michigan University.

- My specialties are Adverse Childhood Traumatic Experiences, Childhood Development, and Child Welfare issues.

I also hold a certification in Parenting Education, and IMH-E Infant Family Specialist, and trained in Culturally Competent Care.

*My professional background - I have worked in multiple settings from Home-Visiting Programs to Rural Health Clinics. I enjoy working with diverse populations, my last job was working for Native Americans. I provided Trauma Informed Care to women suffering from Postpartum Depression. I also helped people with the process of applying for child/adult disability, answered Insurance questions and supported caregivers of elderly family members with dementia.

My personal profile- I am recently widowed after 29 years of marriage and I have two grown daughters and three grandchildren. In my free time I enjoy kayaking, swimming, antiquing, and camping.

My counseling style utilizes various forms of therapy types such:

Multi-systemic Therapy (MST), Manualized Psychotherapy (General), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
