My name is Melissa Schmidt and I’ll be here to support you along the way to meet your desired goals. My style is to help create a positive and supportive relationship that you feel can guide you along the way through listening, using a calming heart and soul.
All of us encounter challenges in life that may overwhelm us or cause confusion. During this, I would like to support you with feedback, provide opportunities for you to learn and grow from, and create a relationship that you can count on - even in this technology driven world!
I have provided therapy to children, adolescents, and adults in various settings. I have worked in-patient settings along with my recent setting, being a school social worker with high schoolers. Working alongside students with disabilities have allowed me to see ​the value of appreciating the smaller things in life, every laugh or the things that bring us joy. I use a number of various treatment approaches such as CBT, DBT, and Mindfulness. Through our communication we can decide a treatment plan and how to best support you.
I believe that therapy is a two way street, I can guide you along the way with tools and support but you have to play a primary role with participation. I would like to hear your feedback and concerns if something is not to your liking and we can work together to find a way.
